CROSBY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) - More than 500 acres of land in Crosby County have been affected by a fire that has been mostly contained.
The Texas A&M Fire Service reported the fire is now fully contained. Crews are still out attempting to get a more accurate estimate of how much land has been burned by the fire.
The forest service has since been able to determine 577 acres were harmed by the fire.
Fires like this can be attributed to dry conditions around the South Plains. Low, single-digit humidity along with a lack of rain could increase the mass of small grass fires.
