LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A man who police say intentionally crashed into five police vehicles and led them on a chase on July 5, 2017 has been indicted by a Lubbock County Grand Jury on a separate charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-threat.

Canales is still in jail on four counts of aggravated assault on a public servant and one count of evading arrest. Today he was indicted in a case from April 19, 2017, just about two and a half months before the situation with police that was caught on dash cam.

In April 2017, police were called to a report of shots fired. During the investigation, they found the bullet from the situation in July matched the shell casings from the shots fired in April.

Canales is being held on a $400,000 bond.
