TRAFFIC ALERT: Portions of South Loop shutdown because vehicle fire

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock Police and emergency officials responded to a vehicle fire on South Loop 289 between Indiana and University avenues.

The area on the Loop was cleared and passable by around 3 p.m.

However, initially of cars lining up behind the vehicle and are being directed to use the access roads near the area. One lane has been opened on the Loop and vehicles are able to continue on the roadway. 

There is no word yet on how long emergency officials will be responding to the incident or if there are any injuries related to the fire.
