Police identify man who was killed after being hit by truck on Marsha Sharp

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - 42-year-old Joey Alafa has been identified as the man who was killed after being hit by a truck on the westbound lanes of the access road on the Marsha Sharp Freeway between Q and University avenues.

Emergency officials were originally called out after 9:30 p.m. Saturday, and upon arrival found Alafa who was then transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries. It was there he was later pronounced dead.

The Lubbock Police Department has since dispatched the Accident Investigation Unit to investigate what may have caused the incident.
