DALLAS, TX (KCBD) - Texas Tech fans are celebrating in Dallas and here in Lubbock after the Red Raiders beat Stephen F. Austin 70-60 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders participated in the NCAA Tournament for the 16th time in program history,
In the first half against Stephen F. Austin, Texas Tech shot just 17 percent from three-point range, and went into the breakdown by three after the Lumberjacks nailed a buzzer-beating triple.
In the second half, the Red Raiders took the lead with 3:48 left in the second half and never looked back.
In all, Stephen F. Austin led the Red Raiders for 29 minutes of the game.
Keenan Evans led the way for Texas Tech with 23-points, and 19 of them came in the second half.
Up next, The Red Raiders will play the winner of the Florida versus St. Bonaventure game in the Round of 32.
The game will be played on Saturday. Game time is TBA.
