Firefighters battle 400 acre wildfire in Motley Co.; Roaring Springs Ranch Club evacuated

MOTLEY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

People at the Roaring Springs Ranch Club in Motley County have been evacuated to a safe place after a wildfire sparked on the property Friday afternoon.

Roaring Springs is located south of Matador and north of Dickens, about 75 miles northeast of Lubbock.

Officials at the Roaring Springs Ranch Club say all people have been accounted for at the club and the fire has jumped Highway 70 and is headed east.

Officials say the fire is estimated to be about 400 acres in size with 100 percent containment as of 8:50 p.m.
