LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock Christian University women's basketball team left campus Friday morning and are on their way to Sioux Falls, S.D., the host city for the NCAA Division II Elite Eight Tournament. A full fan bus will depart Saturday to support the Lady Chaparrals, who play their first Elite Eight game Monday at noon.
The Lady Chaps will practice Sunday morning and will face off against the University of Central Missouri at Noon on Monday.
Central Missouri is 27-3 overall on the season and completed play in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) with an 18-1 mark.
The meeting will mark the first-ever between the two programs. The Jennies carry a No.6-seed after a reseeding process took place following region tournaments. LCU, 31-1, received the No.3-seed.
A win Monday would move LCU into the semifinals, where they would face either No.2 Carson-Newman or No.7 Union (Tenn.) on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Monday's game will be aired on 100.7 The Score in Lubbock. Online video will be available on NCAA.com (for Monday only). Semifinal and Championship Games will not be streamed online but will air on CBS Sports Network and their available platforms.
