Joe Cluley named Estacado Football Coach

Joe Cluley was unanimously approved by the school board Thursday morning to be the Head Football Coach/Athletics Coordinator at Estacado!

Cluley was the defensive coordinator for the Matadors the past 2 seasons and he says he's honored to lead this program.

"When I say it's a dream come true, It's not me telling stories. This is truly a dream come true for me. I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure we're successful. I love these kids. I love that community. I love that school. These kids are the reason I fought so hard for this job."

Cluley takes over for Marcus Shavers who left to be the head coach at McKinney.

Estacado has gone 18-6 the past 2 seasons, including 10-2 last season. Coach Cluley plans to keep it going.

"I see a lot of wins. We want to change kids lives, but we want to win football games. That's my goal."

Estacado opens the 2018 season facing Coronado.
