LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The 76th Annual ABC Pro Rodeo will be held from Thursday, March 29 through Saturday, March 31. Shows start at 7:30 p.m. each night and there will also be a 1:30 p.m. Matinee on Saturday. Each day there will be saddle bronc, bareback, steer wrestling, calf roping, team roping, barrel racing, bull riding, mutton bustin', and freestyle bull fighting events.
Registration/Qualification for the FiberMax Mutton Bustin' event will be held at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Check-in will be from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm and the contest will start at 6:30 pm.
The first 175 kids to enter will have the opportunity to ride like the pros! A photographer will be on site:
- Be 4-7 years old and weigh no more than 55 lbs (Verified during registration)
- Wear protective helmets and vests provided by Lubbock Downtown AMBUCS
- Have a signed release Waiver/Release in order to participate
- Have a ride time of at least 4.0 seconds to qualify
*Absolutely no spurs or ropes will be allowed*
The top 30 riders return and compete during the first three performances of the ABC ProRodeo on Thursday, March 29th, Friday, March 30th, and Saturday Matinee, March 31st.
Ride times will be chosen through a random drawing. The top three winners from each of these first three rodeo performances will return to compete for the "All Around Championship" during the Saturday Night Performance on March 31st.
Trophy Buckles will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in the All-Around Championship and a custom made champion vest will go to the All-Around Champion.
$25 Contestant Entry Fee Includes:

- Each contestant is guaranteed one ride
- Finalist's admission and one General Admission ticket to his/her performance
The Carizma bus shuttle will begin at 6:15 pm for the evening performances and 12:15 pm for the Saturday matinee performance and will pick up at United Supermarkets Arena parking lot continuously through the duration of the ABC Pro Rodeo performance. Parking will also be available at other parking lots South of the Coliseum on the TTU campus.
