No. 7 Red Raider baseball suffers first loss at home

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The 7th-ranked Red Raider baseball team lost their Big 12 home opener Thursday night, 1-0 to West Virginia.

It was Texas Tech's first home loss of the season in 15 games at Rip Griffin Park.

The Mountaineers scored the lone run in the game in the 6th inning.

Davis Martin went six innings giving up one run on three hits with nine strikeouts.

The win was the first in Conference for West Virginia.

Texas Tech falls to 21-6 overall and 1-3 in the Big 12.

The two teams meet again 6:30 p.m. Friday.
