15 towns participated in April 3, 2018 Area-Wide Prayer Gathering

Surrounding towns on the South Plains came together on April 3 for an "Area-Wide Prayer Gathering," involving 15 towns. The event was from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. 

The idea for the prayer gathering came due to the lack of rain, but a couple of years ago there was a similar gathering where Brownfield, Lamesa and Seminole participated.

The gatherings prayed for rain, our nation, national and local leaders, public security for our schools and workplaces, our first responders, and military.

The gatherings happened in 15 towns around the South Plains.

  • Brownfield - Park Amphitheater
  • Meadow - Meadow Farmers Coop
  • Wellman - Southwest Cotton Growers Gin
  • Loop - Community Building
  • Lamesa (2 locations) - Pumpkin Center and Cross on Midland Hwy.
  • O'Donnell - Travis Mires Barn
  • Seminole - New Community Building
  • Segraves - Main Street Activity Center
  • Denver City - New Community Building
  • Plains - Stamford Park
  • Ropesville - Community Building
  • Tahoka - Farmers Coop Gin Yard
  • Levelland - Rangler Farm & Supply Hous
  • Slaton - Slaton Coop Gin

Matthew 18:20 says that where two or three have gathered to pray, the Lord is in their midst. We truly believe in the power of prayer, and we invite you to join us in praying for rain, our nation, our leaders (national and local), safety for our schools and workplaces, our military, first responders, and more. Community prayers will be held in Brownfield, Meadow, Wellman, Loop, Segraves, Seminole, Denver City, Plains, Lamesa, and O'Donnell. Everyone is welcome to join in at the location closest to them!
