LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

21-year-old James Laquel Martin was arrested without incident on Monday, as Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputies took precautions to avoid a pursuit.

Martin had two active felony warrants for theft and he had a history of running from sheriff's deputies, so they called in multiple units before making the arrest.

Deputies began following the car near South Loop 289 and Indiana. They pulled the car over on I-27 at 66th Street.

Deputies tell us there was no chase, and they had seven or eight deputies in place before flashing lights.
