Texas Tech baseball leading conference in major categories

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Tech men's basketball season was a magical ride, that I know a lot of fans didn't want to end.

Now that it is over, it is time we turn our focus onto another great program – No. 7 Texas Tech baseball.

In Big 12 Conference play, the Red Raiders have had a few hiccups but are still 3-3. They are also leading the conference in some pretty major categories.

  • First in Team Batting Average.
  • First in Team Pitching ERA.
  • First in Total Bases.

While, Gabe Holt and Grant Little lead the Big 12 Conference in Individual Batting Averages.

Those are all stats that would make any team confident, but the Red Raiders know they must keep playing the game the right way, if they want to keep competing at a high level.

"I think we have always been confident, I think the problem is we just start running into things," Senior Michael Davis said. "Different things happen. Guys on, every Friday night pitcher in the Big 12 is really good and every Saturday guy. There is a reason why they are playing in this league, so you just have to go out there and compete and hope you get the best out of everybody."
