2 Wayland Track stars honored

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) -

Wayland Baptist's Tiona Owens won the Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week. Wayland's Elizabeth Williams won the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Owens, a Junior from Dallas,  had her lifetime best and NAIA longest Triple Jump of the season leaping 41 feet 3 1/4 inches.

Williams, a sophomore from Greenville, South Carolina aided the 4X800 relay team to the NAIA's fastest time of the season. She also competed in the 4X400 relay.

Wayland Baptist women are back in action this weekend in Canyon at the West Texas A&M Classic.
