Convicted Killers Could Get Chance At Freedom - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Defense lawyers are trying to prove the wrong men are in jail for murder.

Alberto Sifuentes and Jesus Ramirez are serving life prison terms for the 1996 murder of a Littlefield convenience clerk. Tuesday, a woman testified that two other men came to her house either drunk or high, shortly before Angelina Cruz was shot. When she heard of the arrest, she assumed, it was those men in custody, not Sifuentes and Ramirez.

Defense lawyers also say they have DNA evidence to clear Sifuentes and Ramirez. Testimony continues Wednesday.
