Just nine days after four Texas Tech football players were arrested for charges related to a disturbance outside of a Lubbock bar, their suspension has been lifted.
After their arrest on the 25th of March, Coach Kingsbury suspended the players indefinitely.
Three out of the four players participated in practice, Tuesday morning.
Jett Duffey, Christian Taylor, and Quan Shorts all took part in practice, while Desmond Smith didn’t participate due to an injury.
After practice, Coach Kingsbury said the four players have fulfilled their suspensions.
“Yeah. They served their suspension the previous week and their punishment,” Red Raider head football coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “So we got them back out there, taking some reps. Trying to get them back in the mix here this week, and taking it from there.”
Coach Kingsbury was later asked, how did he determine the length of the suspension.
“Just after. Obviously, meeting with LPD and going through all of those steps and talking with our administration. We came to our answer,” Kingsbury said.
Their availability for Saturday’s spring scrimmage in Frisco is still up in the air, and will be decided after Thursday’s practice.
