LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Sydney Holmes, 22, and Mason Kirby, 23, have been indicted by a Lubbock County Grand Jury on a charge of aggravated assault for an incident that happened on January 27, 2018 in the parking lot of Charlie B’s.

According to the police report, Holmes and Kirby were physically fighting in the parking lot. A concerned woman saw the fight and drove up to ask Holmes if she was okay.

The report says Kirby became very angry and said, "So you’re taking her side?" He then punched the woman’s driver’s side window, causing it to shatter. He then jumped on the hood of the woman’s car and punched the windshield, causing it to break. He tried to pull the woman from the vehicle through the broken window. She got out of her car and tried to help Holmes.

The police report says Holmes then started to punch and kick the woman. The woman tried to defend herself against Homes when Kirby came up behind her with a tow strap from his truck. This is when a witness began to record the assault.

The video shows Holmes kicking the woman in the stomach before Kirby wrapped a tow strap around the woman's neck, causing her to not be able to breathe. The video also shows Holmes hitting the woman while Kirby dragged her by her neck and the tow strap.

He then dragged her to an unknown vehicle and threw her into the back of it. She turned back towards Kirby and he punched the woman in the face with a closed fist, according to the police report.

When officers arrived on the scene, the report says Kirby ran from the scene.

Holmes left the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.

Kirby was arrested that night. Holmes was arrested on March 30. Both were released from jail after posting bond.
