LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A new company here in Lubbock has started to turn some heads with their unique name. It's called Sometimes Spouse and it allows you to rent a husband or wife for a day, but it's not what you think.

Actually, it's the exact opposite.

"We're a handyman and household service provider and we're ready to get some spouses in some houses," Lubbock Sometimes Spouse Location Owner Logan Lankford said. "We provide husbands and wives to perform services in your homes, whether you need something fixed up or need your house clean, we provide all those services."

The business allows you to rent a spouse to do all the "honey do" chores you and your honey don't have time to do.

"If you have a hole in the wall, you need some tape bed, some sheet rock, we do that - any kind of cleaning," Lankford said. "A deep clean, light clean, we do all that to get the house clean."

A lot of people confuse this business for something it definitely is not and the CEO of Sometimes Spouse, Christy Ogle, has heard it so many times that she likes to joke about it.

"It is not an escort service," Ogle laughed. "I'm sure, if this handyman gig doesn't work out, we got another way to go."

All jokes aside, Ogle says the name is what really makes her business stand out.

"That's one of the priceless things about Sometimes Spouse is the name, nobody will ever forget it," she said.

Besides the name, Sometimes Spouse prides itself on its successful business model.

"One thing that makes us a lot different than everyone else is we focus on family first," Ogle said. "Our employees work 8 to 5 Monday through Friday so our franchisees can make memories with their families."

Sometimes Spouse has branches all over Texas and across the country, but the business is just getting started. The business offers its services to all of Lubbock County.
