This week, I headed out to Buffalo Springs Lake to race water trikes against the Texas Tech Wakeboard Team.

This weekend at Buffalo Springs Lake, they are hosting Wake the Canyon. A WWA sanctioned wakeboard and airchair competition. The competition is Saturday with the finals Sunday.

Prizes include over $13,000 in cash – along with other secondary prizes. The entry fee to participate begins at $30 and goes up to $125.

Divisions include:
Wakeboard:

  • Jr. Novice (ages 5-10)
  • Novice (ages 11-14)
  • Master (ages 35 and up)
  • Women’s Open Intermediate (2 inverts)
  • Advanced (4 inverts)
  • Expert (8 inverts)
  • Outlaw (unlimited inverts)

Airchair:

  • Novice Advanced-Expert

We’d race these two person trikes through the water on a short course.

As we move into April, so far I’m undefeated at 8-0 this season on I Beat Pete.

If you have a challenge, email me at pchristy@kcbd.com
