SUDAN, TX (KCBD) - After nine years at Sudan, with the last four as the Hornets head football coach, Guthry Edwards is leaving to pursue ministry training and teaching in the Lubbock area.
Edwards came to Sudan after one year at Farwell to be the Hornets Defensive Coordinator. He eventually became the Head Coach, leading the Hornets to the playoffs the last three seasons.
Edwards was 21-22 in his four seasons with the Hornets.
His family is from Sudan so it's a bittersweet change, but they are taking a leap of faith.
Coach Edwards will take ministry training in Lubbock and is currently looking for a teaching job.
We wish Coach Edwards and his family the best.
