LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Tech Men's Track and Field team has been ranked highly for most of the indoor season and that hasn't changed since they moved outdoors.
This week, the team has moved up four spots to No. 2 in the latest U.S. Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association outdoor national rankings (USTFCCCA).
This is highest ranking in program history for the outdoor season, where last year they reached as high as No. 3.
Texas Tech sprinted their way up the rankings, after a successful weekend at the Sun Angel Classic in Arizona.
The Texas Tech Women's Track and Field team leaped 13 spots to crack the Top 25.
They moved up to No. 24 in the (USTFCCCA) poll, setting the highest outdoor ranking since the 2016 season when Tech was ranked No. 22 in the poll.
