Riley retiring as Lubbock Cooper Boys Basketball Coach, Harris promoted

WOODROW, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock Cooper Boys Basketball Head Coach Wayne Riley has announced his retirement at the end of the school year.

Riley had led the Pirates the last two seasons, making the playoffs both years. Riley has coached and taught for 28 years, including out in Abernathy.

Gabe Harris has been promoted to replace Riley as the Pirate Boys Basketball Head Coach. Harris has served 12 years as the Boys Basketball Assistant Coach. He now will lead the Wonders in Woodrow.

Congrats to Coach Riley on his retirement and to Coach Harris for taking over the program.
