No. 4 Texas Tech pounds Kansas State in opener

(KCBD) - Getting 20 hits, the No. 4 Red Raiders routed Kansas State 21-4 in the series opener Friday night at Rip Griffin Park.

The Red Raiders scored 2 in the first, 4 in the 2nd, 5 in the 3rd, 6 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th to open up a commanding 20-0 lead.

Tech hit 4 home runs. Grant Little hit 2 going 4-5 with 9 RBI and 2 runs scored. Cody Farhat and Zach Rheams both hit homers as well.

Davis Martin went 5 strong innings allowing 2 hits and no runs, striking out 7.

Game 2 for the two teams is at 2 p.m. Saturday.
