LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees is coming to Lubbock for a Dinner with Drew event to benefit Team Luke Hope For Minds.

The event will be May 9 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, with a VIP Event at 5:30 p.m. and the Dinner & Q&A with Drew Brees at 6 p.m.

Luke Siegel turned 12 Wednesday, so this will be a belated birthday present for him as his father Tim says Drew and Luke have become friends.

"What we did before the accident, we went to a Saints game every year at the Superdome. One year after the accident, we reached out to the Saints and Luke was there for one practice and a game. This past October, Drew Brees threw a pass to Luke's friend, who handed it to Luke in the End Zone at practice. Drew told Luke if they won their game, he would get the game ball. Sure enough, a few weeks later, we received a game ball. The relationship has been incredible. I know that Luke knows. Luke knows that Drew Brees is coming to Lubbock. I know it makes an impact on Luke's life."

There will be a live and silent auction including packages for Pebble Beach, the U.S. Open and tickets and flight to see Texas Tech and Duke basketball at Madison Square Garden.

Anyone who wants to register for the Dinner with Drew Brees event can visit https://app.donorview.com/MvP3 or they can call Tim Siegel directly at (806) 773-8030 if you're interested in registering for a Gold or Silver level table.
