LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - For most student-athletes at Texas Tech, you have to prepare for life after sports. Thanks to the J.T. & Margaret Talkington Leadership Academy, a career series called Suited for Success is doing just that.
64 student-athletes from 12 different sports learned life skills through this series.
Red Raider Football player Kolin Hill learned a lot.
"We learned what the interview process is like. The attire you should wear to the interview and what kind of things you should say in the interview process."
Softball player Kaylee Strickland said the series prepared her for her future.
"We had our resumes critiqued. We had mock interviews and we had an etiquette dinner which was awesome because now I know how to eat."
By completing the course, every Red Raider and Lady Raider received a tailored custom-made suit. So they really are suited for success.
