3 athletes sign at Lubbock High

LUBBOCK, TX (AP) -

Three athletes signed to play college athletics at Lubbock High on Thursday morning.

Destiny Arenas signed to play golf at Texas Tech. Her father Jesus played basketball for Bobby Knight at Texas Tech, which makes this signing very special for her.

"Today is a big dream of accomplishments. I just can't believe it's actually happening. It's one of my dreams to follow my dad everywhere. I want to thank Coach Robertson at Texas Tech for giving me a chance. I won't let her down."

Koi Carrillo signed to play baseball at Lubbock Christian University. He's glad to stay in town.

"It's close to home. It's a great baseball program. I want to stay close to my family. I wouldn't be who I am without them"

Moriah Garza signed to play softball at LCU. She's glad to get to stay in Lubbock.

"I'm really excited. I want to thank God for putting me in this situation. I really wanted to stay close to home. My other choice was seven hours away. I'm glad my family will get to come watch me."
