Frisco, TX - The Lubbock High School Academic Decathlon team has a second-place notch under its belt after a weekend competing against other schools in the nation at Frisco.
This is the first national appearance the team has had since 2002, according to a Lubbock Independent School District news release. In getting to this competition LHS also broke a school record while competing for the state title earlier this year and received the highest score across all divisions in the competition.
This weekend the team placed behind El Camino Real Charter High School out of California and in front of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School in Illinois, according to the Academic Decathlon website.
The competitors are set to arrive back in Lubbock Saturday evening.
