LITTLEFIELD, TX (KCBD) -

Littlefield Police have arrested the suspect who they say forced his way into a motel room and stabbed two women multiple times.

The incident happened early Monday morning at the Crescent Park Motel, 2021 Hall Avenue, around 1:40 a.m.

According to the Littlefield Police Facebook page, a citizen saw the suspect, Eric Kirkwood Mullen, leaving the Crescent Park Motel. That citizen then called police.

Officers responded to the motel and arrested Mullen as he was leaving the property. He was taken to the Lamb County Jail.

Mullen is facing two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say early Monday morning, the suspect knocked on the door and asked to come inside. The women in the room declined and said they were about to go to sleep. Police say Mullen forced his way into the room and stabbed both women, causing moderate to serious injuries. He then fled the scene.

A person of interest was detained Monday night, but his name has not been released. It's unclear at this time if that person was Mullen.

The victims were transported to the Lamb Healthcare Center by Littlefield EMS. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

If you have any information about this incident, you are asked to call the Littlefield Police Department at 806-385-5161.
