The Texas Tech women's golf team will once again compete in the postseason as the Red Raiders were selected to the NCAA Austin Regional Wednesday afternoon during the official unveiling on the Golf Channel.

The Red Raiders, who are appearing in the regional round for the eighth time in the past nine years, will be the No. 13 seed in the state capital, which will have a strong Texas feel among the 18-team field. The three-day tournament runs May 7-9 at the University of Texas Golf Club.

"It's always exciting to hear your name called during the selection show," Tech head coach JoJo Robertson said. "I'm really proud of the team for their hard work this spring and the improvements they've shown. I'm looking forward to the next week of preparation and the chance to do something special in Austin."

Arkansas will be the top seed in the Austin regional followed by several familiar teams for the Red Raiders in No. 2 Texas, No. 6 Oklahoma, No. 7 Houston, No. 9 Baylor and No. 10 Texas A&M. The field also includes Michigan State and Florida as the No. 3 and 4 seeds, respectively, as well as No. 8 Miami, No. 11 BYU and No. 12 East Carolina.

This will be the 18th all-time NCAA Regional appearance for the Red Raiders, who will need to finish among the top-six teams to advance to the NCAA Championships for the fourth time in program history and the third time in the past four years alone.

Tech boasts an experienced lineup when it comes to postseason play as seniors Gabby Barker and Lauren Mason have now advanced to the regional round in all four of their collegiate seasons. Junior Mami Yamamoto, meanwhile, will be playing in a regional for a third-consecutive season.

The Red Raiders have moved past the regional round twice already with Barker and Mason in the lineup, the highlight of which came in 2015 when Tech advanced from the NCAA West Regional en route to finishing tied for fifth at the NCAA Championships. It marked the highest finish for the Red Raiders in program history.

The Rawls Course was the stage for Tech's run to the NCAA Championships a year ago as the Red Raiders closed the three-day regional in fifth place behind the play of both Barker and Mason. The duo both fired even-par cards to close the tournament with Barker leading the lineup alongside Sofia Garcia in a tie for 17th overall.

Tech has already played the UT Golf Course once this season as the Red Raiders finished tied for sixth in early October at the Betsy Rawls Invitational. The Red Raiders have played in the tournament each of the last three years with Barker winning medalist honors at the 2015 event.

Tee times for the NCAA Austin Regional will be announced in the days leading up to the tournament. Live scoring will be provided all three days on
