A third round of evacuees from the Gulf states arrived in Lubbock just before after 5:30pm bringing another approximate 70-80 people by plane.
The newest arrivals will go through a check-in procedure including a background check and medical examination and will then be transported by Citibus to Reese Center.
The first plane full of evacuees landed just before 2pm at the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport and a second plane arrived just before 3:30pm.
Lubbock city officials are expecting as many as 1,000 evacuees. They will be housed at Reese Center and at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum.
Officials are asking that you not go out to the airport or Reese Center, if you would to volunteer or donate money or items for the evacuees, you are asked to go by the American Red Cross located at 2201 19th St.
