Bailey County Sheriff Richard Wills wants to warn residents on the south plains of a man impersonating law enforcement officers, trying to get money for fake warrants.

Sheriff Wills says people have been contacted in Bailey, Lamb and Parmer counties. The caller, who appears to be calling from multiple local phone numbers, tells people they have a warrant for their arrest and they need to get two $500 money orders mailed to him.

Sheriff Wills says they will not call you, they will just show up at your door if you have a warrant for your arrest.

If you get one of these phone calls, please call the Bailey County Sheriff's Office at 806-272-4268 or 806-272-4569.

Officials say the man "sounds local."

If you have any information about this crime, please call your local sheriff's office.

Standing alongside Putin, Trump steered clear of any confrontation with the Russian, going so far as to question American intelligence and last week's federal indictments that accused 12 Russians of hacking into Democratic email accounts to hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016.
