Fourteen hurricane survivors joined others at Reese Technology Center Tuesday after spending the night in Slaton.
Word Aflame, a Slaton church, had relocated the survivors from the Astrodome in Houston, but hours after arriving, the group called 9-1-1 concerned about the home's cleanliness. The group, ranging in age from 3 months to 51 years old, was then moved to the Slaton Inn for the night.
Slaton Police said the home was sub-standard. The church said they were just trying to help, and had food, clothes, and mattresses ready for the group.
