Clovis Rd. reopened after multi-vehicle crash; two injured

LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock Police Officers were called to Clovis Road and Auburn Street, around 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, May 8, following reports of an accident involving multiple vehicles.

Through the initial investigation, officers were able to determine that a male was headed eastbound in the 2100 block of Clovis Road, when the car he was driving veered into the westbound lanes, colliding with a minivan driven by a female.  Following the initial collision, the car was then struck by a separate car, which was also headed west.

The driver of the vehicle headed eastbound was taken to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

The female driver of the minivan was also transported by ambulance to UMC with serious injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

Clovis Road is back open and investigators are finished at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
