ANTON, TX (KCBD) -

Anton Junior Kaitlyn Clardy, better known as KK, is headed to the State Track and Field meet for the 3rd year in a row,

As a Freshman, she qualified in two events. As a Sophomore she qualified in three events and this year as a Junior, she qualified for five events. Kaitlyn will be competing in the Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, 100M Hurdles and the 300M hurdles. She's thrilled for the opportunity.

"I'm pretty excited. I worked really hard so I'm pretty happy with myself. Long jump is my favorite. It's probably the one I'm best at. The 100 hurdles is also my favorite.  The 300 hurdles are my least favorite."

Anton Track Coach Dusty Grantham says Clardy has a chance to medal this year after finishing 4th in an event last year.

"They're not all the easiest events for her, but she puts in the time to be good at them. We are super proud of her. Anytime you can take anybody period to State is good. Getting someone there in five events is pretty unheard of so we are excited to see what she can go do down there."

I talked to Kaitlyn live on Facebook about her five events and her chances down in Austin. You can see that here:

Critics say the NFL's decision to force players to stand during the national anthem if on the field say the policy prioritizes the league's mainstream appeal over athletes.
