For the third-consecutive year, the No. 11 Lady Raider tennis team hosted the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament.
In a day where temperatures topped the century mark, the Lady Raiders defeated Army West Point 4-0.
Dvorak and Federici, as well as Valenstein and Rush took the doubles points.
Then in the singles, Maltby and Valenstein took their matches to seal the win.
Up next the Lady Raiders will take on Illinois in the Round of 32 Saturday at 1 p.m.
Coach Todd Petty knows the fans will make a huge difference in Saturday's matches.
"We need it packed, because we are going to need all of the energy we can get," Lady Raider Head tennis coach Todd Petty said. "Illinois will try to steal our house with all of the energy here, they did a good job of that this morning. So yeah, this is an opportunity to send these seniors off with their fourth-straight Sweet Sixteen appearance. So, we need to get Lubbock out in full force, not a whole lot going on athletic wise for Texas Tech wise here at home. So let’s go out and support these girls."
