LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

There is no word on what caused a three-vehicle crash that injured five people Saturday evening.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at 19th and Frankford Avenue.

Officials with the Lubbock Police Department say there were four people with moderate injuries and one person with minor injuries.

Based on preliminary information, police say it appears a Dodge Caravan traveling east on 19th Street tried to turn north onto Frankford and crashed into an LPD Tahoe traveling westbound on 19th Street. As a result of the initial crash, an SUV stopped at the southbound red light on Frankford was also struck.

The two occupants of the van and the two occupants of the SUV were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
