LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Monday afternoon, the Texas Tech basketball program snagged 6'3 guard transfer from South Dakota, Matt Mooney.
Mooney was considered one of the best grad transfers in the country, where he averaged 18.7 points per game last season.
In the past two seasons Mooney tallied 1,271 points for South Dakota, and hit 76 three-pointers this past year.
With Keenan Evans graduating and Zhaire Smith declaring for the NBA Draft, Texas Tech lost both of their top guards from last season.
So, Mooney looks poised to step into the starting lineup and play a huge roll next season.
