Tulane Athletes Arrive at Texas Tech

They may come from the Big Easy, but so far life has been anything but that for students of Tulane University. Texas Tech hopes to change that for some fifty student athletes. Wednesday, they arrived on campus and immediately began orientation so they can start classes as soon as possible. The athletes will train and play with the Texas Tech's women's basketball team and the men's baseball team.

Coach Marsha Sharp, says Red Raiders will do all they can to help the new athletes feel at home. Coach Sharp says, "They had to evacuate so quickly that they had back packs only and everything else is under water at Tulane when you put yourself into their situation, our players can really understand that."

Sharp says the university is making a list of items the athletes need so that fans can make donations.
