PETERSBURG, TX (KCBD) -

The Petersburg School Board officially approved Armando Solis to be the new head football coach at Petersburg Tuesday night.

Solis has been the Spur head football coach the past seasons where he led the Bulldogs to the playoffs last season. Prior to that, Solis was at SpringLake-Earth and Amherst. He's excited to take over the pigskin program in Buffalo Country.

"We are super excited. We are getting a little closer to Lubbock. That's been a huge blessing to my family and I. We have heard nothing but great things about Petersburg. We are just really blessed to be here with such a good administration and a good staff. We have an opportunity to serve the community of Petersburg and Buffalo Nation so we're super excited."

Coach Solis made super to thank the community of Spur and the great people there.
