Remembering Plainview pastor David Pollard

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) -

Family and friends are remembering Plainview Baptist Pastor David Pollard, who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday afternoon.

Pollard was riding his motorcycle southbound on a service road in the 1400 block of north I-27 when he collided with a pickup truck that was pulling out of a parking lot.

Pollard was the pastor at Seth Ward Baptist Church.

Les Griffin of the Caprock Plains Baptist Area worked directly with Pollard and had this to say, "Some people are just good to hang out with. He was a fun guy to hang out with because he loved life and he loved people. There was no doubt about that. And it didn't matter who those people were, or where they were, that's the kind of guy he was."

The family issued this statement on Wednesday:

"The family would like to thank Plainview and the surrounding communities for their support shown to us during this time of grief. We knew him as a husband, father, brother, and uncle and it is a testimony to his passion and love for God to see how many people he impacted. Their love and support has meant a lot to the family. We would like to thank everyone who has stopped by, brought food, or called to offer condolences."

A memorial service will be held later this week.
