Noel Johnson inducted into 2018 TABC Hall of Fame

LUBBOCK, Texas – Former Lady Raider standout Noel Johnson has been named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) Hall of Fame of the class of 2018.
 
Johnson will be inducted into the hall of fame on Saturday during a ceremony in San Antonio, Texas.
 
As a player at Nazareth High School, Johnson led the team to back-to-back State Championships in 1990 and 1991. She was named All-State and was selected to the All-State tournament team following the championship seasons.
 
Johnson played for Hall of Fame coach Marsha Sharp and the Lady Raiders from 1991-95. She helped the program to four straight Southwest Conference Championships, Four NCAA Sweet 16 appearances and a National Championship in 1993.
 
She was an All-Southwest Conference selection, 1994 SWC All-Tournament and was named to the All-Time Lady Raider SWC Team.
 
Johnson was named the Team MVP in 1994 and was the first recipient of the Jeannine McHaney Athlete of the year Award, selected by the Texas Tech women’s coaches.
 
An outstanding three-point shooter, Johnson still holds the school record for the best shooting percentage from beyond the arc with a .511 average (24-47).
 
In 2005, Johnson was named to the Texas Tech Hall of Honor.
