LPD Officer involved in head-on crash near 19th & Milwaukee

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A crash involving a Lubbock Police vehicle happened today just after 10:30 a.m. near 19th and Milwaukee.

The officer driving a marked LPD pickup truck was traveling westbound on 19th Street. A 21-year-old male driving a Chevy Tahoe attempted to pull out of a business driveway on the north side of 19th Street. As the Tahoe turned left on 19th Street across the westbound lanes, he struck the LPD pickup truck.

The officer had minor injuries and was taken to UMC by another police officer. The 21-year-old male refused treatment by paramedics and was written a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
