Good news and bad news for consumers.
The good news is gas prices in Lubbock are dropping. We found prices at the pump as low as $2.75 Thursday. That's an 11-cent drop from Wednesday and a 21-cent drop this week.
Now for the bad news. Thursday, the Energy Department reported natural gas prices could increase as much as 71% this winter. Price hikes will depend on how fast oil rigs and Gulf Coast refineries damaged by Hurricane Katrina can be repaired.
