LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Eighteen-year-old Bryan Rodriguez, of Lubbock, was indicted Tuesday on one count of aggravated robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle and fraudulent use and possession of identifying information.
The charges come from an April 12 incident in which a Lubbock woman claimed Rodriguez carjacked her BMW at gunpoint in the 3000 block of Dartmouth Avenue, in the Arnett Benson neighborhood.
A little while after taking the vehicle police were called out to a hit-and-run incident at 3002 Shallowater Dr. where the car was wrecked and the suspects fled on foot, according to a police report. Police were advised Rodriguez and three other suspects were then riding around in a Chevrolet.
It was near the 100th block of Detroit Avenue that police stopped Rodriguez and the suspects and police searched the vehicle. Because a warrant was issued for Rodriguez, police were able to take him into custody and while searching him found a debit card that did not belong to him.
Rodriguez is currently in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $62,500 bond.
