DUMAS, TX (KFDA) -

The Texas Rangers are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Dumas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says around 3:15 a.m. Friday morning, a Dumas police officer was taking a report on a stolen vehicle at a home in the 200 block of Pine Street when the owner of the alleged stolen vehicle saw it drive by.

The officer was standing outside of his patrol car when he saw the driver of the reported stolen vehicle make a U-turn on Pine Street and travel back towards him.

Officials say the suspect then used the vehicle to ram the officer's car.
