3 injured in two-vehicle crash on Highway 84

SLATON, TX (KCBD) - Three people have been taken to the hospital after a Saturday afternoon collision on Highway 84 in Slaton.

DPS tells us a semi tractor trailer and a Chevy pickup pulling a Lincoln passenger car collided on US 84 approximately a mile west of All American Chevrolet.

The accident happened around 1:15 p.m.

DPS says the semi tractor trailer was traveling westbound on US 84 when it ran into the rear of a Lincoln passenger car being towed by a Chevrolet pickup. The Lincoln then struck the Chevy pickup.

The driver of the Lincoln in tow, Joel Garza, 46 of Lubbock was taken to UMC with incapacitating injuries.

The passenger in the Lincoln, John Rodriguez, 59 of Lubbock was taken to UMC with incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the Chevy pickup, Lewis Rodriquez, 53, of Lubbock was taken to UMC with minor incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

DPS says this crash remains under investigation.
