The Road to the College World Series will run through Lubbock, Texas, as the NCAA announced the field of 64 teams on Monday morning.
Texas Tech is a No. 9 national seed. Tech will face No. 4 New Mexico State. No. 3 Kent State vs. No. 2 Louisville.
Texas Tech hosts New Mexico State 1 p.m. Friday, Kent State and Louisville play 6 p.m. Friday night.
Texas Tech would need Georgia to lose, if they want to host the Super Regional here in Lubbock. If both teams advance, the Red Raiders will head to Athens, Georgia for the Super Regional.
For the first time in program history, the Red Raider baseball team will have hosted an NCAA Regional in three-straight years.
This is the programs sixth overall Regional to host, dating back to 1996, 1997, 1999, 2016, & 2017.
The Lubbock Regional will take place from June 1-4, 2018, where it will be a four-team, double-elimination tournament.
