Suspect in July 4 shooting turns himself in

(LUBBOCK, TX) – Alex Jordan Flores, 20, is now in the Lubbock County Detention Center, charged with aggravated assault in connection to a shooting in the early morning hours of July 4th, 2017.

An arrest warrant was issued for Flores on July 12th. Flores turned himself in on Tuesday, May 29th, before 5:00 p.m.

Lubbock Police were called to the Park Apartments in the 5400 block of 50th street, just before 4:00 a.m. on July 4th, following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 17-year-old Andrew Ramirez, with a gunshot wound. Ramirez was taken by EMS to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

At this time, Flores' bond is set at $50,000.
