If you're going to the Texas Tech football game Saturday, you will probably want to know where you can park and tailgate for free.
When construction on the Marsha Sharp Freeway began, free parking and tailgating was moved from the "Hastings parking lot" to the West commuter lot near the United Spirit Arena.
Citibus will provide free shuttles, to and from the game. The lot opened up, Friday at 5:30 pm, for tailgaters to reserve their spot. However, you will not be able to rope off a location.
"If it is full of tailgaters and the parking lot is full, there are various other places to park that are around campus," said Craig Well, Texas Tech Assistant Athletic Director of External Affairs.
If you are unable to find free parking on campus, or if you prefer to be closer to Jones SBC stadium, you can park for a price.
McDougal Companies is providing three lots with prices ranging from $10 to $75. If you are trying to park an RV, you will need to reserve a spot. Call (806) 745-6700 ext. 23 for more information.
