Fire Burns 1,000 Acres Of Grass Land In Hockley County - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Firefighters put out a major grass fire in Hockley County Friday afternoon.

The Levelland Fire Department told us a machine used to cut hay sparked the blaze East of Smyer. Three different fire departments responded to the scene and had the fire under control in about thirty minutes.

Nearly 1,000 acres of land was charred.
